About the Band

Meet the Detroit Revelators a blues/rock cover band from metro Detroit. The trio formed in 2020 from a collection of blues-rock loving musicians sharing an appreciation for the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, Tom Petty and The Beatles to name a few. Modern influences include White Stripes, Black Keys, Foo Fighters, Green Day and Pearl Jam, with an ever expanding set-list to meld all genres. The unique blend of music fuses deeply rooted blues with modern classic to provide a sonically pleasing experience across all generations.

I have been playing drums/percussion since the 5th grade (20+ years!). Music is my greatest passion aside from my family roles as a husband and father.

I started out playing in concert band from 5th grade all the way through high school- (including jazz band, marching band, and playing drum set for school musicals). During that time, I took every opportunity I could to learn & play new styles of music. My favorite genres to play are rock, blues, funk, and jazz.  I also ran sound and did some recording of my dad's band for a while, where I learned a lot about audio.

I took a break from formal lessons/classes during college to work towards my bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. However, I met my wife during that time and soon after that, music found it's way back into my life. I started playing in the band at her church, where I quickly expanded my volunteer efforts into helping with sound and lighting as well! I still play and help with sound to this day, and church has been an awesome opportunity for me to continue growing my musical skills.

I've had an eventful 10+ year career as an Automotive Engineer since graduating from Oakland University, but music continues to be my creative outlet for the other side of my brain!

I have been a member of  The Detroit Revelators since June 2023, and it has been a blast so far! Not to mention, I get to play alongside my 'little' brother, too!
